My Approach

I approach therapy from a trauma-informed, client-centered perspective. I believe that you are the expert in your own life. In other words, I don’t approach therapy with a “one size fits all” mentality. Understanding and supporting your unique perspective, experiences, values, and goals is foundational to the therapeutic process.

Therapy is a space for you to explore the most authentic version of yourself–who you are and who you want to be. Together, we will build on the strengths you already have, collaborate to establish and maintain therapeutic goals, and celebrate who you are and all your achievements.

Specializations

  • A hang glider flys above the dense trees on the coast of Fort Funston.

    Self-Esteem

I often encounter young people who are stuck in a cycle of negative self-talk – they’re tired of being their own worst critic, but don’t know how to change, or they feel like they deserve the pain they’re experiencing. Whether these beliefs come in the form of body image issues, feeling unlovable, or as a result of trauma, I work with you to explore these beliefs without judgment, challenge them, and create new beliefs that support your happiness.

  • A rainbow sprawls across the coast of Maui. Thick purple clouds cover the sky yet the rocks and shrubs along the coast are bright from the sun behind the camera.

    LGBTQIA+

As a young person, exploring your identity and finding a sense of community can be isolating and overwhelming. For queer young people, these challenges are exacerbated by social and political oppression. I am dedicated to providing affirming and personalized care to help you build resiliency, confidence, and self-compassion.

  • The sun peaks through dark storm clouds, casting a golden ray of light over the dark ocean water.

    Anxiety

Anxiety itself is a normal response to stressful or dangerous situations. When anxiety shows up frequently and in “neutral” circumstances, it can feel like it’s taking over your life. I work with young people to understand the full spectrum of their emotions and build a new, adaptive relationship with their anxiety, so that they can feel in control of their lives.
